Unit Name Change – Not the First – Not the Last

PPC Logo - a lighthouse, a sunflower and the Topeka skyline in the backgroundOn February 13, 2009, the current Personnel Service Center in Topeka, Kansas will be renamed the Coast Guard Pay and Personnel Center. This name change will precede the March 16, 2009 stand up of the mission support organization’s Personnel Service Center (PSC) in Arlington, Virginia. The new PSC will unify, within one service center, all Coast Guard personnel and human resource support currently provided by the Personnel Command, the Pay and Personnel Center, the Recruiting Command, as well as some functions currently carried out by Headquarters, the MLCs, and ISCs, including services such as housing, MWR, CGES, educational services, health and safety, and work-life. Command moves C2Pedia to unclassified network

Kevin Marlowe, USJFCOM’s Joint Systems Integration Command (JSIC) command and control (C2) analysis director, said C2Pedia provides an online knowledge base with information about more than 200 C2 systems, accessible to anyone with a Department of Defense (DoD) Common Access Card.

He added that C2Pedia also should help the C2 community discuss the universe of systems from a common starting point.

“While there may be some hesitation for this data to be shared widely; all agree that we have to work as a DoD team to understand what systems we’re fielding, how they’re being used, and how well they perform,” said Marlowe.

The trial of a Bangor woman accused of stealing the identity of the highest-ranking woman in the U.S. Coast Guard and getting credit cards in her name got under way Monday in U.S. District Court with testimony from the victim.

Mary L. Landry, 43, pleaded not guilty in October to three counts each of aggravated identity theft and wire fraud, two counts of Social Security fraud and fraud in connection with access devices.
