Image Meritorious Service Award

The criteria for this Awards sums up Ms. Arlene Gonzalez. Wouldn’t it be great if Coast Guard nominated Ms. Gonzalez for this award. She’s currently on detail to National Image, Inc.

Manuel Oliverez, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of National Image, Inc. announced that effective August 4, 2008, Ms. Arlene Gonzalez, (USCG-GS-15) became the new Director for Intergovernmental Affairs. The Coast Guard and National Image, Inc. signed on the IPA agreement on August 1st with an effective date of August 4th.

National Image, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit and nonpartisan organization dedicated to excellence in public service. Its three basic objectives are equity in Employment, Education and Civil Rights for all Americans. Membership in Image is open to everyone who supports the objectives of the organization.

HISPANIC AMERICANS IN THE AREAS OF EMPLOYMENT, EDUCATION, AND CIVIL
RIGHTS. EACH YEAR IMAGE HONORS THE CG AND THE OTHER ARMED FORCES
DURING A SALUTE TO HISPANICS IN THE MILITARY AWARDS BANQUET.  THIS
YEAR, THE AWARDS CEREMONY WILL BE HELD IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE
ANNUAL TRAINING CONFERENCE, MAY 11-15, 2009, IN SAN ANTONIO,
TEXAS.  NOMINEES ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND THE AWARDS BANQUET ON MAY
14, 2009 WITH THE CONCURRENCE OF THEIR COMMAND AND CONSISTENT WITH
MISSION REQUIREMENTS.
