CGBlog Contacts Coast Guard Report to Set the Record Straight
CGBlog Stabilized With New Publisher
Dan Trimble at CGBlog sent us an e-mail at 0352 this morning to set the record straight on who the publisher of CGBlog is or maybe isn’t. In his e-mail Trimble said:
Good evening,
You have incorrectly listed me as the publisher of CGBlog.org at this Coast Guard Report post, dated June 8th:
http://cgreport.wordpress.com/2009/06/08/troubled-cgblog-finds-a-new-home/#commentsI’d like to set the record straight that I am NOT the publisher or owner of CGBlog.org. In June, the site was being relocated to a different server by its then-publisher Ryan Erickson. I offered to host it on my infrastructure at no cost, but there was no change of ownership nor arrangements to change publishing responsibilities. I am a very occasional contributor to CGBlog, but I am not the publisher of the site (currently Jim Dolbow).
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at any time.
Regards,
Dan Trimble
Here is where we’re confused, our post which Trimble hyperlinked in his e-mail doesn’t say who the new publisher is … or was … or might be. Yes its suggestive that if you read our post and then read LT Ryan Erickson’s post from CGBlog, (which we quoted in our post) you might draw that inference, but that’s up the reader. But at the end of the day, all we reported was what Erickson had announced on CGBlog.
However, the record is now straight; we now know that Jim Dolbow is the publisher of record. The question left is if we’ll hear from Doblow now that for the second time we’ve published what a contributor at CGBlog has said needs clarification.

What exactly was the point of Dan’s e-mail?
